Terms of use
Last updated 9 August 2026
These terms cover the Stockd Up app and this website. The most important part is the section on guidance: Stockd Up helps you keep track, but it never decides whether something is safe to eat or use.
The short version
- Stockd Up helps you organise what is in your home. It is a helpful guide, not professional advice.
- Dates, days-left counters, savings figures and prices are estimates. Always use your own judgement, especially with food and medicines.
- You need to be 16 or over to use the app.
- Stockd Up is a subscription with a 30-day free trial. It is billed by the App Store and renews automatically until you cancel.
- You own what you put into the app. We do not hold a copy of it.
The full terms below set out the detail and the important limits.
These terms and your agreement
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Novaro Digital Labs Ltd and govern your use of the Stockd Up app and this website. By downloading or using Stockd Up, or by using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use them.
Your use of the app is also subject to the standard licence terms of the App Store, including Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. If you carry on using Stockd Up after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using it.
Who can use Stockd Up
You must be at least 16 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, and able to enter into a binding agreement.
Your licence to use the app
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Stockd Up for your own personal, non-commercial household use, in line with these terms. You must not copy, modify, translate, reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, rent out or otherwise exploit the app or any part of it, except where the law expressly allows it.
Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Stockd Up is sold as a subscription through the Apple App Store, under Apple's payment terms. New users get a 30-day free trial.
Unless you cancel, a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period and your account is charged for the next one. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Deleting the app does not by itself cancel a subscription.
Prices may change. Where they do, we or the App Store will give you notice in line with Apple's rules, and any change applies to future periods. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own refund policy.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. By starting to use a digital subscription immediately you may be asking us to begin the service during that period, which can affect that right. This does not remove your other statutory rights.
Your content and data
You own the information you put into the app, and you are responsible for its accuracy and for making sure you have the right to store it. We do not claim ownership of your content and, as explained in the Privacy policy, we do not hold a copy of your inventory.
You grant us only the limited permissions needed to run the features you use, for example sending a barcode you scan to a product database. Keeping your own backup is your responsibility, and switching on iCloud backup is the recommended way to do it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Stockd Up unlawfully, or to attempt to breach or test its security, access it by any means other than the interface we provide, scrape or harvest data, reverse-engineer or interfere with how it works, misuse any third-party service it connects to, or infringe anyone's rights. We may suspend or end your access if you break these rules.
Services provided by others
The app relies on services provided by others, including Apple for iCloud backup, subscriptions and speech recognition, and Open Food Facts for product data. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them, for their availability, or for the accuracy of the information they provide.
Stockd Up is a guide, not professional advice
Food safety and expiry. Expiry dates, best-before and use-by dates, days-left counters, opened-item windows and freezer durations shown in the app are general guides and estimates, based on what you enter and on general reference data. They will not fit every product, package or storage situation. Always use your own judgement and your own senses before consuming or using anything. Do not rely on the app to decide whether food, drink or any other item is safe. If in doubt, throw it out. We are not responsible for any illness, loss or harm arising from decisions you make about consuming, using or discarding items.
Medicines and health. Any medicine, dosage or expiry information is for your own organisation only. Always follow the packaging, the dispensing label and the advice of a qualified pharmacist or doctor. The app's reminders and estimates are not medical advice and must never be used as a substitute for professional guidance, or as the only way of managing medication.
Savings and amounts saved. Figures for money saved, waste avoided and similar are illustrative estimates based on average calculations and on comparisons with published national averages. They are not a statement of your actual finances, and we do not guarantee that using the app will save you money or reduce your waste.
Prices and values. Any cost or value shown is based on average prices gathered from external sources, or on figures you enter yourself. External price data can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and prices vary by shop and over time. Treat any figure as a rough estimate only.
Product information. Product details from barcode lookups come from third parties, and we cannot guarantee their accuracy.
Reminders and notifications. Reminders depend on your device settings, your operating system and connectivity, and may be delayed, missed or not delivered at all. Do not rely on them as the only way of remembering anything important.
Your data drives the app. Counts, dates, values and insights only reflect what you log and keep up to date. If your information is missing or inaccurate, what the app tells you will be too.
Availability
Stockd Up is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, and we may release updates. We aim to keep it working well, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors.
At launch, Stockd Up is available for iPhone in the United Kingdom. Other platforms and countries may follow, but we do not commit to any date for them.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we give no warranties or guarantees of any kind about Stockd Up, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms removes or limits any rights you have as a consumer under the law of your home country that cannot be removed or limited.
Our responsibility to you
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data (please keep your own backup), loss arising from your reliance on the guides, estimates, prices or reminders described above, or the acts, omissions or services of third parties.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Where we are liable to a paying user, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Your responsibility to us
You are responsible for your own use of Stockd Up. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses or claims that arise from your misuse of it, your breach of these terms, or your unlawful use of it.
Ending your use
You can stop using Stockd Up and delete it at any time, and you can delete your data as described in the Privacy policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or where we reasonably need to for legal, security or operational reasons.
When your use ends your licence ends, but any data held on your device or in your own iCloud remains yours to keep or delete. The sections on disclaimers, on our and your responsibilities, and on intellectual property continue to apply afterwards.
Intellectual property
Stockd Up itself, including its software, design, look and feel, name and branding, but excluding the content you create, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. The licence in these terms does not transfer any ownership to you.
Governing law and where you can bring a claim
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in another country, you may also be entitled to the protection of mandatory rules of your own country and to bring proceedings there. These terms do not take those rights away.
General
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we give it up. These terms are the whole agreement between us about Stockd Up. We may transfer our rights and obligations under them, for example if the app changes hands. You may not transfer yours without our consent.
